Young Diplomacy Professionals Forum 2013

Where leaders of tomorrow are debating what matters today

“Participation in the Young Diplomacy Professionals Forum is an excellent opportunity to communicate with the future generation of leaders from different cultural backgrounds and learn about their perspectives on world politics, thus escaping the dangerous trap of looking at international affairs from a narrow national perspective.” Toms Rostoks, Assistant Professor, University of Latvia and moderator of the YDPF.

Young Diplomacy Professionals Forum 2013 (YDPF) was organized by Latvian Transatlantic Organisation (LATO) and aimed at informing and engaging young professionals and future leaders into the debates of the Rīga Conference 2013 through comprehensive parallel discussions on the most pressing questions of regional and global foreign policy and security agenda, workshops and debates with the world class leaders at the main Rīga Conference 2013 venue through available social media platforms, thus promoting better cooperation amongst participants representing different professional and national background.

“We are facing serious geopolitical shifts that question the future role of the EU and NATO as effective regional organisations. Also it is becoming more challenging to understand who are the big players in the international relations of today”, Nora Vanaga, PhD. Student, University of Latvia, lecturer at the National Defence Academy of Latvia and moderator of the YDPF
